Add Botender to your website
One line puts the chat on every page. Pick your platform for the exact steps. None of them needs a developer.
Your line looks like this. Copy yours from your dashboard: Widget, then Embed & Install.
<script src="https://botender.com/api/widget/YOUR-ID/script" defer></script>No account yet? Start free and you get your line in the last setup step.
WordPress
Needs: An administrator login. On WordPress.com, a paid plan (Personal or higher).
Download the Botender plugin- Download the Botender plugin. It is a zip file: leave it zipped.
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add Plugin (older versions say Add New Plugin), and click Upload Plugin.
- Choose botender.zip, click Install Now, then Activate Plugin.
- Go to Settings, then Botender. Paste your line and click Save Changes.
- Open your site in a private window and look for the chat bubble.
No bubble in the private window? Your site may be serving saved copies of its pages. Clear the cache in your caching plugin or at your host, then look again.
On a Mac, Safari may unzip the download into a folder. Control-click the folder and choose Compress to get botender.zip back.
The plugin marks the chat so WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache and Cloudflare Rocket Loader leave it alone. If the bubble still only appears after you scroll or tap, add botender.com to your speed plugin's JavaScript exclusions.
Other ways to add your line, without our plugin: the free WPCode plugin (Code Snippets, then Header & Footer, the Footer box), Divi (Divi, then Theme Options, then Integration, under "Add code to the < body >") or Elementor Pro (Elementor, then Custom Code, location "<body> - End").
Google Tag Manager
Needs: Publish access to your site's Tag Manager container. If your site uses Google Analytics through Tag Manager, you already have one.
- Open your container at tagmanager.google.com.
- Go to Tags, click New, then Tag Configuration, and choose Custom HTML.
- Paste your line.
- Under Triggering, choose DOM Ready (all DOM Ready events).
- Save, then Submit and Publish.
This is also how you add it to cannabis storefronts that have a Tag Manager setting, such as BLAZE ECOM, AIQ Ecommerce, Treez, Flowhub and POSaBIT.
Wix
Needs: A paid Wix plan with a connected domain.
- In your site's dashboard, go to Settings, then Custom Code (under Development & integrations).
- Click + Add Custom Code and paste your line.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages.
- Under Place Code in, choose Body - end, then click Apply.
- Check your live site in a private window.
Do not use the Embed HTML element for the bubble: it runs inside a box, so the chat cannot float over your pages.
Squarespace
Needs: The Core, Plus or Advanced plan (code injection is not on Basic).
- Open the Pages panel and click Custom Code, then Code Injection. On version 7.0, it is under Website Tools.
- Paste your line into the Footer box.
- Click Save.
- Check your site in a private window: scripts may not run in the editor preview.
Webflow

- Open Site settings, then the Custom code tab.
- Paste your line into the Footer code field and save.
- Publish your site, then check the published site (some scripts do not run in the Designer preview).
Shopify
- Go to Online Store, then Themes, and click Edit theme.
- In the Footer area, click Add section and choose Custom Liquid.
- Paste your line and click Save.

- Open Tracking Tools and click Add new code.
- Paste your line, choose End of body and click Save.

Duda and agency-built sites
- Sites built by an agency often keep code settings with the agency. Send them your line and ask them to add it to the end of the body on every page (on Duda, in the site's custom HTML settings), then republish.
- Custom-built sites (Next.js, React and others): your developer adds the line before </body>. In Next.js, use next/script with strategy="afterInteractive".
Cannabis storefronts
- BLAZE ECOM (formerly Tymber)
- Connect your Tag Manager container in ECOM Mission Control: General, then Integrations, then Google Tag Manager. Then follow the Google Tag Manager steps.
- AIQ Ecommerce (formerly Dispense)
- Paste your line in Branding, under Head Code, or connect Tag Manager under Integrations and follow the Google Tag Manager steps.
- Treez Ecommerce
- Turn on Tag Manager in Ecommerce Admin: Settings, then Google, paste your container ID, click Update and purge the cache. Then follow the Google Tag Manager steps.
- Flowhub Ecommerce
- Add your Tag Manager container ID in Back of House Settings, then Integrations. Then follow the Google Tag Manager steps.
- POSaBIT menus
- In the POS Portal, go to Inventory, then Menu Feeds, edit your menu and set the Analytics Provider to Google Tag Manager with your container ID. Then follow the Google Tag Manager steps.
- Jane Boost
- Paste your line in the Page Head section of your Boost configuration.
- Embedded menus (Dutchie, Jane, Leafly, Meadow, Weedmaps)
- The menu sits inside your own website, so add the chat to your website with the guide for your site builder. The chat bubble shows next to the menu.
Does your menu have a cart button in the bottom-right corner? Move the chat to the left: Widget, then Appearance, then Position.
No code access
GoDaddy's website builder, Google Sites and your listings on Leafly, Weedmaps or Google do not let you add code to every page, so the chat opens from a link there.
- Copy your chat link from your dashboard: Widget, then Embed & Install.
- Add a "Chat with us" button or menu link on your site that opens it, and put it in your Instagram bio.
- Print your QR code for the counter, receipts and bags.
Check that it works
- Open your site in a private window and look for the chat bubble.
- Your dashboard shows it as installed as soon as the chat loads on your site.
- Your site already has an age gate? Turn ours off in the Rules tab so shoppers only see one.
